2011 South Carolina Annual Conference Report of Board of Pension and Health Benefits Pension And Health Insurance

Pension Pension Plan is called the Clergy Retirement Security Plan. Eligibility Requirements: –All Elders and Deacons under Episcopal Appointment to local church or Conference Controlled Entities. –Fulltime and Part-time local pastors under Episcopal Appointment to local church or Conference Controlled Entities.

Defined Benefit = Pension benefit defined as 1.25% of the Denominational Average Compensation at Retirement per year of service after January 1, Pension (Cont)

Defined Contribution = 3 % contribution and interest earned during work determines benefit.

Pension (Cont) –Comprehensive Protection Plan – Death benefit and disability.

Defined Benefit = monthly charge of $578 per month for the year 2012 for each full time clergy (part time is prorated by quarters). This is the same as Defined Contribution = 3 % of total compensation (Total Compensation=Cash + value of housing or allowance). CPP = 3% of total compensation. Found on page 26 of your pre-conference material. Pension Costs to Church

Health Benefits The Pharmacy Plan will be Changed for 2012 from a Fixed Co-Pay to a Percentage Co-Pay for Details found on page of the Pre Conference Packet. The was done for two reasons: –The Fixed Co-Pay is being phased out by Healthflex and will not be available after –This allowed the Board to NOT raise premiums for The Co-Payments for Emergency Room Visits and Urgent Care centers were raised. (See Page 29, Lines of your Pre-Conference Packet.) This change was made by the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits.

Health Insurance 2010 Rates Active Premiums will NOT increase for the year (See Page 33 of Pre Conference Packet.) Retiree Rates will NOT increase for the year (See Page 33 of Pre Conference Packet.) An optional Consumer Driven Plan (a high deductible plan with a funded Health Reimbursement Account) will be offered for Details found on page 30 of the Pre Conference Packet. Health Benefits
