SAFESPOT Project Kick off Meeting February 16 th and 17 th 2006 Rome 4 Previous work Use case analysis to determine logical communication steps from the “User View” (i.e. actor initiating the communication) for various ITS application scenarios using V2V and V2I communication in a highway driving environment Logical steps derived from the use case analysis helped to identify relevant data, areas to which application data is relevant and hence the identification of data dissemination mechanisms for communication between vehicles and with the infrastructure Hazard analysis of various ITS applications using a variety of techniques

SAFESPOT Project Kick off Meeting February 16 th and 17 th 2006 Rome 6 Proposed plan for WT1.2.1 CRF, Volvo, Piaggio, ICCS and MIRA participating in WT1.2.1 Identify sources of information Confirm scope and nature of use cases: categories to consider could include: – Incident-led view –Application-led view –Driving environment view (specific category or subcase?) Identify and contribute to the use case scenarios Determine use case terminology and definitions Develop a template for collecting data on use cases Insert use cases into template Perform hazard analysis on selected scenarios Use techniques such as PASSPORT Preliminary Safety Analysis, HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) study depending on level of detail available in the use cases Produce deliverable WT1.2.1 ends 30/6/06
