Objectives of study To investigate pattern of Internet usage among students at the Faculty of Technology. To identify the most popular online activities among students at the Faculty of Technology. To determine the effects of Internet among students at the Faculty of Technology.

Research questions What are the patterns of Internet usage among students at the Faculty of Technology? What are the most popular online activities among students at the Faculty of Technology? What are the effects of the Internet among students at the Faculty of Technology?

Methodology Respondents

Data Collection Method Two data collection instruments were used which are survey questionnaire and interview.

Conclusion Internet was very important to FTech student either male or female students and they used Internet in their daily routine for many purposed. FTech students used Internet for social and academic aspects. Furthermore, students spending their time on the Internet for social and academic aspect in the average hours. In aspect of the most popular online activities, the majority of students second year FTech mainly purpose of using the Internet is for entertainment. This is because the students are frequently using the Internet for access online chat groups compare to other categories. From this, we can conclude that the students are using the Internet because they want to access online chat groups for the entertainment rather than others. The most effect that influence the student in FTECH on academic is, they too dependency on Internet when they do their assignment. The influence on students use Internet too long is they have sleeping disorder.From this, we can say that mostly of FTECH students make a research on Internet to do assignment and they will sleep late night.

Recommendations Students used Internet in their everyday life for many purposed. However, in the aspect of academic and social aspect, students should balance their time on spending on the Internet. They should know which is important and which activity they should done first. The number of hours spend on the Internet prove the important of Internet usage to FTech student. There are many mainly purpose of using the Internet, but the students should have the limitation and the hierarchy when use the Internet. The students should focus on the education compared to others when using the Internet to avoid misused of the Internet that had been provide by the University. Student should not to depend on Internet when do their assignment. From this, it might be a plagiarism. Student must go to library too. They can find another resources there.Student also encourage to surf Internet not until late night because when they sleep very sleep, they might be sleepy in class and can not concentrate.
