Commission called upon to continue its efforts to further improve the present set of indicators and to define the statistical needs for these indicators.

Development of Agri-environmental Indicators_State of play & outlook for further work 7 Progress made in the development of AEIs ► The IRENA operation:  Joint project based on a partnership between DG AGRI, DG ENV, DG JRC, DG ESTAT and the EEA  Purposes: To develop and compile a set of AEIs, based on the set of indicators defined in COM(2000)20 and COM(2001)144; To provide the related databases at the appropriate geographical level; To produce (a) a first indicator report and (b) an indicator-based assessment of the integration of environmental concerns into the CAP.
