What Are Labour Unions? A labour union is an organization of workers that acts to protect workers’ rights and interests.

What types of rights do labour unions protect? 1.Read pages 113 to 115. Note what the two types of discrimination are and what are the facts to each story. 2.What right or freedom was infringed upon in the each case according to the Charter? 3.What was the role of the labour union in the first case? What was the ruling in regards to Mary Kelley? 4.What was the ruling in the second case in regards to Dr. Olive Dickason? Why was this ruling upheld by the courts? What was the result of the ruling?
