In the News The new curriculum is coming and will be statutory for schools that are not academies or free schools In 2014, SATs may be based on National Curriculum levels for the last time due to the introduction of the new curriculum. A new assessment system will be needed for years 1 to 6. This may be based on the model seen in the EYFS with children judged to be “emerging, at expected or exceeding expected levels. The expectations for GPS (SPaG) can already be seen in the draft NC. The outcomes of the spelling, punctuation and grammar test will be included in RaiseOnline. A new inspection framework is expected for the autumn term. This is likely to be a tweaking of the current framework rather than a rewrite. The expectation for all subject leaders to contribute towards the development of reading, writing and maths will continue.
