A Christian response…

(There is) a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:8)

"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbour and hate your enemy.' But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:43-45)

And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8)

Do not repay anyone evil for evil... If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath… Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:17-21)

Discussion Points: How should we, as Christ-followers, respond to the Paris terrorist attacks? What can we pray for? How can we love mercy and act justly? Who/what are the biggest enemies of peace and justice in South Africa? How can we be good witnesses for Jesus as we engage in such discussions or on social media?
