Evaluation Questions How do Teachers think the site can promote effective Basic Skills Learning? What interface characteristics are easy to use for Teachers and Learners? What features of the website are relevant to, and motivate students? How can use of the site integrate into the Basic Skills Adult Core Curriculum? How can the site promote the BBC’s Learning profile? Is implementation of the site cost effective for the BBC’s production unit?

Methodology Literature review of relevant evaluations - 1 Research Assistant (RA) 1week Survey Questionnaire for course managers and teachers to collect details for sampling – Administrator 5 days, RA analyse data 1 week Interview sample of course managers and teachers, plus observations - 3 RA 2 weeks In class questionnaires and individual interviews with learners Focus group with 1 centre 1 RA 10 days, 1 Administrator ?

Timeline 3 months for the project Questionnaire distribution and collection, online, 2 weeks Analyse questionnaire data and decide on sampling, data collection methods to use on site Arranging site visits and implementation, 2 weeks RA 1 week A 5 days, RA 1 week 3 RA 2 weeks RA 1 week, A 5 days TOTAL = RA 9 Weeks, Admin = 10 days
