Planning for your farm business Module Goals Develop a list of goals for your farm business. Learn basic farm marketing principles Develop a marketing plan for your farm. Learn basic record keeping tools to keep your farm profitable. Learn the tools you will need to start a farm business. Walk away with a basic business plan for your farm!

Goals for Lesson 1 To be clear and honest with yourself and your family about why you want to farm and what your expectations are for your farm. To decide how much money you intend to earn from farming in the first few years and overtime. To think about what you are good at that will help you succeed in farming, and what new skills you need to learn To identify the resources you already have for your farm, and what new resources you need to acquire.
