Add materials that are multicultural in all subject areas at all grade levels. Develop a basic familiarity with different cultures through staff- development or personal effort. Eliminate word minorities from the vocabulary. Schools are preparing students for a world in which people of color are not in the minority. Use flexible, heterogeneous, and cooperative grouping rather than ability grouping and tracking Do all you can to ensure same level funding of schools regardless of cultural or ethnic background,. Incorporate provision of equal opportunity in the classroom as part of teacher evaluation Help students understand that they do not have to reject their cultural identity to be successful in school.
