WRITE DOWN THE AGENDA IN YOUR DOBSON PLANNER

Monday Bell Ringer Literary Term of the week. ◦ Copy down my definition of the term and create your own example. ◦ Tragic Flaw: The character flaw or error of a tragic hero that leads to a character's downfall. Dr. Gregory House from the TV show House —his addiction is his tragic flaw. Although he is a genius, he manages his pain through the habitual use of Vicodin. This tragic flaw causes his downfall, especially as the seasons go on.

REMINDERS AND NEW PROCEEDURES

Notebooks ◦ We are keeping the same one as last semester ◦ Bring them with you EVERYDAY ◦ Page Numbers ◦ Regular: 33 ◦ Honors: 44

Bathroom and Assignment Passes ◦ You get 4 purple bathroom passes per SEMESTER ◦ You get 4 green late assignment passes per SEMESTER ◦ Remember these only allot for ONE day late

Stamp Sheets ◦ This is where I will check you off as to having an assignment (or planner check) done on time. ◦ If you receive a parent signature stamp you may make up for lost stamp points by getting a parent or guardian to sign in the space. ◦ This is not a punishment. It is merely another way for me to communicate with families. ◦ Blue stamp sheets will be for planner checks ◦ Yellow stamp sheets will be for other activities (mostly pertaining to the play we read this quarter)

Canvas ◦ We will be having several assignments that are to completed on Canvas. These will occur both in class and on your own time. ◦ Be sure that you are signed up for Canvas and in my class.

Books ◦ While I do have some copies of the play for your use. I STRONLY encourage you to obtain your own copy of the No Fear Shakespeare version of the play. ◦ Regular: Much Ado About Nothing ◦ Honors: Othello **These are also available online for free, but you would not be able to use those versions in class.**

Other Reminders ◦ All papers get turned in to the blue tray in the back. ◦ If you need to pick up papers for the day they will be on the back table as you enter ◦ If you are using your cell phone without permission it will be confiscated and put in the pretty pink cell phone jail for the class period. ◦ If you are absent check the folders for missed handouts AND the calendar above it to see the day’s agenda. ◦ The agenda and power point slides for the day are also posted on my mps webpage
