Work Item Objectives and Scope Interoperate to provide a seamless connectivity experience across heterogeneous networks Provide improved handoff performance enabled by standard features such as triggers and events Enable client / network standard based Information Services exchange to allow terminals, networks and users to achieve an optimum connection for the delivery of multimedia services
Work Item Objectives and Scope Work will involve the specification or modification of Product Requirements, development and interoperability testing of scenarios: Elements of converged network Services Communication over heterogeneous networks (e.g. Wi-Fi, WiMAX and cellular) Ultimately the objective is to prove the MIH technology, the Product Requirements and the scenarios during one or more trials
Participants Companies listed below have officially expressed interest in in the Work Item: British Telecom Brasil Telecom Telecom New Zealand Motorola Huawei Gemalto Swisscom Korea Telecom Rogers Wireless Telcordia and InterDigital (pending official FMCA membership)
Work Item Plan Plan is to have some input towards Product Requirement Document, including: Interoperability tests Trials Note: trials and dates are pending operator / vendor formal agreement in FMCA Do people believe current objectives / work item plan are sufficient to prove technology?
Feedback Are there any other IEEE members intending to do similar tests or trials? Are there any other IEEE vendors interested in participating and joining FMCA –
