Contents MOUNT FUJI JAPANESE ANIMALS PEG DOLLS

Mount Fuji This is Japan’s highest mountain. There are huts on Mount Fuji for people to stay in. Buddhists believe the mountain is a gateway to heaven.

Japanese Animals There are lots of animals in Japan that we don’t have in Britain. Examples are Macaques, Koi Carp, Serows and Flycatchers. Macaques are called snow monkeys. They are famous for washing their food in salt water as they like the taste. They bath in hot volcanic springs. Koi carp are beautifully patterned fish. They swim in garden ponds and are prized in Japan.

Peg Dolls First you get a peg then draw a design for clothes on paper. You can do a Samurai outfit or a kimono design. You have to do to both sides to make it look good. Add thread or wool for hair. Draw a face. Look at our dolls on this page!
