Chemical Safety Symbols As can be seen from our warmup, there are times when you have to know about nearby dangers when working with chemicals or in a lab. We’re going to do an activity today that’s all about the symbols. However, we’re going to make it more fun. On the next slide are a number hazardous terms. Your job for 20 minutes is to come up with a simple icon to represent each of the hazards or cautions. At the end of the activity, you’ll turn in your list and Mr. C. will pick the best symbols for each concept. If yours is picked, you get an extra bathroom pass, so make them good! Afterwards, we’ll take notes on the real symbols. Memorize them. There will be a closed note quiz tomorrow!
