Saturday, February 20, 2016 A-Day Objective: YWBAT describe advantages and disadvantages of different energy sources. Drill: Name two ways to release biomass energy. Homework Energy Sources Graphic Organizer due on Friday

Answer Two ways to release the energy in biomass is through burning (such in wood) or converting plant material into alcohol that can be burned (such as ethanol).

Did you know…? Biomass can also be turned into a fuel like gasoline. Just as apples can be made into cider, corn and wheat can be made into ethanol. Ethanol is a fuel a lot like gasoline.

Closure Is nuclear energy considered renewable or nonrenewable?

Conclusion Answer Nuclear energy is considered a renewable energy source but that is subject to much debate because uranium deposits on Earth are finite.
