HYPACK PROJECTS HYPACK 2016

Projects What’s in a Project  ‘ A Project contains all of the information about a specific survey in a separate folder.

Project Manager  Select or Create a new Group folder.  Make a new project  Copy an existing project  Delete (from the list) an existing projects. The “Projects” tab has a list of the last 10 projects that you worked on.

Project Groups  ‘ Each “Group” points to a folder on your computer where HYPACK Projects are stored. The HYPACK 2015 folder is created when you install the HYPACK 2015 package. The “Network” group returns in 2015 and allows you to designate any folder on any computer as a project source. Click on “Project Manager” tab to access the Groups tab. Add projects from previous versions of HYPACK by clicking “Add Group” and selecting the Project Folder from that version.

Open an Existing Project You can open an existing project by double-clicking on the name in the Group listing, or by right-clicking on the Project in the Group listing and selecting “Open Project”. AVI

Every time you re-survey an area, use Copy Project and make a new folder!

Copying a Project

Directory Structure  HYPACK 2016…  When you install HYPACK 2016, it creates a “HYPACK 2016” folder with several sub-folders.  The “Projects” sub-folder is where projects will be stored when Group is set to HYPACK  Each project has its own sub-folder under the Projects folder.  Each Project folder has sub-folders that contain the Raw, Edited and Sorted datafiles Projects

Project Items: Options Refresh Folders: Checks access of all Project Items. Rescan Folders: Checks for new files in Project folder. Remove Missing Files: Gets rid of files listed in the Project Listing that cannot be found. Disable All Files: No files are displayed in the SHELL. Disable Data Files: No data files are displayed in the SHELL Disable Project Files: No project files are displayed in the SHELL. Chart Display Order: Allows you to change the order in which the Project files are displayed. Toggle Folder Icons: Removes/Adds the folder icons in front of the different Project files.

Web Map Imagery (WMS = Web Map Server Downloading of WMS images requires an Internet connection. Bing Map imagery requires an account with OnTerra ( Go to the View tab to enable the WMS menu. Set the extents of your search by zooming the screen of the HYPACK SHELL to your area of interest. Click “Set Project Area”. Set the # of Maps you want to download. The higher the number, the higher the resolution. Click “Get Maps”. The WMS routine downloads each map and then re-projects it based on the project geodesy. AVI
