European Capital of Culture 2020 Candidate

Every year the EU designates two countries as European Capital of Culture for one calendar year In 2020 Ireland & Croatia have been selected to host the European Capital of Culture Dublin, Limerick, Galway and the Three Sisters are the Irish candidates ECoC cities are selected through an open competition

Hosting a European Capital of Culture is an excellent opportunity to: Regenerate the region Raise our international profile Enhance our regional image in the eyes of our own inhabitants Breath new life into our culture Boost tourism

Why Bid as a Region?  A collaborative work model  Variety and quality of culture  Mutual benefits  Commonality and difference

Three Sisters 2020  Represents the region  Nore, Suir and Barrow coming into one estuary  Brand will continue to develop throughout process
