Six Thoughts to Motivate and Inspire Christians
Presentation transcript:

 Sinning is exhausting. Physically, mentally, emotionally Genesis 4:7; Acts 26:14  An encumbrance, an entanglement (Hebrews 12:1)  David’s sins wearied himself (Psalm 38:3-8).

 Sin causes us trouble, weighs upon our souls.  Every sin is a leech, a parasite, a thief.

 Saps energy  Robs health  Consumes mind  Wastes time  Depletes prosperity  Is fatal  Anger, envy, bitterness  Selfishness, greed, covetousness  Substance abuse, addictions, falsehood  Fornication, pornography, evil desires

 He is God’s Lamb who takes away sin (John 1:29). Atonement is offered to sinners (Romans 3:25, 26). Sins are remitted in baptism (Acts 2:38; 22:16). An appeal to God for a good conscience (1 Peter 3:21).

 His good news transforms the lives of Christians. Freed from sin, they are raised to walk in newness (Romans 6:4). Their minds become renewed (Romans 12:2). They become new persons (Ephesians 4:24).

 Jesus will bring the faithful to eternal glory. He will be glorified in His saints (2 Thessalonians 1:8-10). Their living hope results in glory at Christ’s return (1 Peter 1:3-4, 7). They will be in conformity with His glorious body (Philippians 3:21).
