Chapter 2 Questions

List/discuss conditions that can be used to determine when an object is art. 2. Even though philosophical questions may have many or no answers, how do they benefit us? 3. What are philosophers in art interested in?

4. Define good design. 5. How does an artwork provide the viewer with an aesthetic experience? 6. Explain the principle of human intention in determining if something is considered art.

7. Who makes the judgments in determining if something is a work of art. 8. Where can art be found? 9. What is considered folk art? 10.What is considered commercial art?

11. Find a review of an event, exhibition book, movie, or CD in a newspaper or magazine. Highlight negative statements, and underline positive. Is the review balanced or more positive than negative? Is it persuasive? Explain. (Everyone must have a different article)
