Your instructor: Phil Fournier, ASE certified Master Technician Automotive Engine Performance

We are going to learn and have fun, I promise it!

In this course we will cover the following topics: Information about base engine systems Information about electronic ignition systems Information about starting systems Information about charging systems Information about fuel systems Information about computerized control systems

As a result of this course you will be able to: Interpret the readings of an engine vacuum gauge Effectively use a VAT to diagnose batteries, starting and charging systems Identify the types of fuel system used on various vehicles Describe in writing the process of closed loop computer control

As a result of this course you will be able to: Evaluate readings from engine compression testing Perform volt drop testing across battery cables and charging cables Demonstrate proper and safe use of hand tools Interpret the readings from computer scan tools

As a result of this course you will be able to: Adjust basic settings on the lab scope

But above all…. You will learn to think!

Evaluation Methods Multiple choice tests Fill-in-the-blank vocabulary tests Essay question tests Hands-on performance evaluations
