Opioid Dosing Guidelines An interagency guideline developed by DSHS, DOH, HCA, L&I, Corrections, in collaboration with pain specialists Purpose: assist primary care providers to prescribe in a safe and effective manner Applies only to chronic non-cancer pain Only 11 pages

Opioid Dosing Guidelines - 5 key points 1.In general, the total daily dose of opioid should not exceed 120 mg of oral morphine equivalents 2.If considering going above 120mg, obtain a pain management consultation 3.Assess function regularly, for example using SF-36, Oswestry, QuickDash
