A Fiction story has a narrator, or someone who tells the story. The narrator might be a character in the story. Or the narrator might not take part in the action at all.

A Fiction story has a plot. The plot is usually a series of events that includes a conflict, which needs to be resolved.
A Fiction story uses dialogue, or conversation among characters, to move the action of the story along.
Sensory details make the characters, setting, and action come alive.
A Fiction story has a beginning, middle, and an end.
