Students review provided video clips. Welcome & Introduction Review course syllabus and related items Students establish access to and familiarize themselves with the course website(s) Primary Blackboard

Non-graded activities Students read and reflect on what research is and the nature of science Students began familiarizing themselves with how journal articles are presented by reviewing the provided research article Students begin to identify their research interests and related scholarly journals (at least in a general sense).

Notice that in the “Discussion” section of the Blackboard website there is a place for questions related to each module. The instructor will check this regularly to answer posted questions, students may also contribute to the provided solutions. Please use this discussion section for content and course related questions. Personal questions, e.g., grades, etc., should be e- mailed directly to the instructor.

Complete the “Module 1 Survey - Introductions” assessment. Found under the “Assessments” section of the blackboard website. REQUIRED – Used to verify course enrollment. Failure to complete the quiz (it’s really more of a survey) by the end of Week 1 may result in the student being dropped from the course.
