Lord Stafford Awards Winner A Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Staffordshire University MA Ceramic Design graduates working closely with Professor David Sanderson and Aynsley China, established an in-house design resource to create 3D shape 2D surface design to bring fresh new ideas into the company. This KTP was also recognised for it’s achievements by the Lord Stafford Awards as winners of the 2008 ‘Achievement in Innovation’ category. “...the award was a tribute to the efforts of the university and associates, as well as the vision of the company.”

Lord Stafford Awards 2010 Winner An INNOVATIVE project developed by University Forensics Professor John Casella in partnership with Sci Chem Ltd scooped the Achievement in Innovation Award at the 2010 Lord Stafford Awards. SciChem Forensic Investigations are designed to show schoolchildren the scientific processes behind crime-scene investigation. To develop the idea, the University entered into a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Bilston-based schools equipment company Scientific and Chemical Supplies Ltd (SciChem) to produce and market forensic science kits.Knowledge Transfer Partnership “Our relationship with Staffordshire University now provides us with the platform for future development.”

University Company flux is a hit in Paris A NEW and INNOVATIVE ceramic design firm launched by Staffordshire University students and staff returned from a showcase event in Paris with bulging order books. Flux Stoke-on-Trent, based in the Stoke Creative Village, College Road, was launched at the five-day- long Maison et Objet trade fair in the French capital. During the event the company took over £30,000 worth of orders for cups and saucers, mugs, plates and other tableware. The designs have also attracted attention from various trade magazines, with some of the Flux products set to be featured in Elle Decoration and Veranda in New York. “Now the company is established, the growth potential is great. We could be looking at £100,000 in orders this year.”
