MATRIX CHAMBERS ‘ALWAYS THERE TO SUPPORT AND INSPIRE’!!! Matrix causes fund

What is the matrix causes fund? Matrix chambers is one of the leading chambers in the United Kingdom and their aim is to support the community in contributing to children’s education; thereby, promoting the legal sector to underprivileged pupils in schools/college. They set out to support and assist charities in the UK who meet certain criteria’s and obviously have particular characteristics in applying to join the cause fund. Which gives benefits and funding support to the charity organisation.

Who Are The Charities Included? The following charities are some of the charities among many other, that Matrix chambers have been able to successfully administer support and aid to: Haslar Visitors Group Holborn Community Association Peace Direct Sleeping Stones Nigeria Working Families Suspect Communities (Institute of Race Relation). Detention Action

What Do They Do? Haslar Visitors Group: Are involved in Non-judgemental befriending of immigration detainees in Haslar. They also run a “Drop-In” for asylum seekers in Portsmouth. This operates twice a week. They also fund to help men released on bail from Haslar and destitute asylum-seekers in the community. Asylum seekers receive at best 70% of the official British benefits and some don’t receive anything at all(they are not allowed to work).

Holborn Community Association: Holborn Community Association is a community anchor organisation consisting of Bedford House Community Centre and Millman Street Resource Centre in the heart of WC1.  Bedford House Community Centre hosts a wide range of activities and special projects for all ages and members of the community.  Millman Street Resource Centre offers services and activities to Camden residents over the age of 60. Peace Direct:. Raise funds for their programmes and offer management support and advice to local people. They build recognition for their work, to put them in touch with those in the wider world who can assist with funds and influence. Also, they promote the concept of locally led peacebuilding to the international community, so that others will adopt their approach too.

Stepping Stones Nigeria’s (SSN): Saves, protects and transforms the lives of thousands of vulnerable and disadvantaged children. They are a small and effective charity that works from a child-rights approach. They are doing everything in their power to ensure that children in the Niger Delta get a proper education, healthcare, food and protection. Suspect Communities (Institute of Race Relations): This is an event run by the ‘institute of race relation’, who carry out research, publish and collect resources on race relations throughout the world on different themes; like, violence, asylum seekers and refugees, health, employment e.t.c.

Working Families: Help working parents and carers and their employers find a better balance between responsibilities at home and work. Their free Legal Helpline gives parents and carers advice on employment rights such as maternity and paternity leave, rights to time off in an emergency, and parental leave, as well as helping them to negotiate the flexible hours they want. Detention Action: They support people in Harmondsworth and Colnbrook Immigration Removal Centres, near Heathrow Airport in London, and people held under immigration powers in London prisons. They are completely independent from the government and from the detention centres.

HOW DOES THIS WORK? Charities who are interested in getting support especially funds, all go through the same process and all charities’ applications are given the same consideration, especially if all criteria's are met. Charities just need to go on the Matrix Chambers’ website which is and click on the organisation option which is where you will find the ‘Matrix in the Community’, which has all the details needed to apply for the Cause Fund. The process is fast and easy. Matrix Chambers always make sure to look out for the best interest of everyone included.
