Development is measured with a variety of methods: The Human Development Index was created by the United Nations to show how development is measured. The highest index is 1.0. What factors determine a country’s HDI? 1.Economic Factor: - GDP per capita 2. Demographic Factor: - Life Expectancy 3. Social Factors: -Literacy rate -School enrollment

The HDI of any given country is categorized on a continuum of High, Medium, or Low Human Development.
