Presentation transcript:

The heel is the base of the body which carries the whole body weight, so it's not awfully unusual to be affected by short lived injuries and damages. The damages or the wounds to the feet muscles, can give rise to inflammation and unbearable pain in the foot.

Foot discomfort is intolerable and hampers somebody's general activities like running and walking. Heel spur or Plantar Fasciitis is an agonizing condition of the foot where it suffers from wear and tear of the muscles that support the foot.

Well, the name implies the foot muscles or the muscles at the base of the heel suffer with heavy damage. The muscle whose damage causes heel spurs is known as Plantar Fascia or Achilles tendon that connects the heel to the foot. The muscle damage is caused due to its overstretching during jogging or walking.

Even poor quality shoes can hurt the foot muscles causing inflammation and discomfort. The discomfort is at the peak during the initial few hours in the morning. This is not caused overnite and happens only after the muscles at the base of the heel takes a large amount of beating. The general symptoms that are ordinarily noted in folk are as follows:

Redness at the base of the heel.

Agonizing heel in the early hours of the day.

Discomfort experienced after walking or jogging

There are many treatments that can be utilized to heal the difficulty of heel spurs like medicines, injections and footcare products. The majority of the treatments don't produce fast results and someone has to wait for 1 or 2 weeks to witness the results.

Some common treatments are the application of a cold press, taping, strapping and rest. Doctors generally use anti inflammatory drugs or steroid injections to scale back the soreness. There are also many heel spur treatment products that can be employed to cut back the swelling and stretch the muscles. Some of these products are insoles, night splints, heel seats for example. The night splints provide support to the ankle and foot muscles while keeping them stretched overnight to scale back the redness. The insoles provide massage and support to the muscles and reduce the agony slowly.

Constant use of insoles/heel seats together with night splints will help the muscles to relax and stop them from getting overstressed. Thus it's actually possible to cure heel spur easily but takes a little forbearing and time.
