Important Dates to Remember Jan. 29:Have current background Feb 5: You will receive an of school placement Feb 8: Report to Clinical Experience Site School MONDAY, 2:00 pm OR call mentor teacher for when you will report March 4: Deadline for Placement Verification form March 11: Complete Ed Psy 27 hr (before Spring Bk) upload log sheets March 23 – 25 Small group meetings May13: Complete Pre-Internship 18 hrs upload log sheets May 2-6: Finals Week

Ed Psych Clinical Experience #2 Purpose: Provide opportunity to apply & analyze educational theories & practices addressed in university course work involved in helping all students learn. Scope: Working directly with students Assist & participate in co-teaching opportunities with the Mentor teacher Teaching a minimum of one planned lesson to whole class Become familiar with reports, lesson plans and other responsibilities of a teacher

Co-Teaching defined “Co-teaching in student teaching is defined as two teachers (cooperating teacher and teacher candidate) working together in a classroom with groups of students, sharing the planning, organization, delivery and assessment of instruction, as well as the physical space.” (Bacharach, Heck, Dank 2004) Both teachers are actively involved and engaged in all aspects of instruction.

Changes in Educational Pathway Spring 2016 Ed Psychology Register for clinical school placement by an on-line app when enrolled in PTE 4533 Clinical hours (27hrs) Must complete these hrs before Spring break Pre-Internship 18 hrs w/ mentor (pre- student teaching) Must complete these hrs before the 13 th of May

CE 2 Placements Have been notified by - fax and phone No changing school placements Placing 400 students this semester Must contact school on 1 st day to report-- If unable to attend do not wait two months to call and reschedule.

Your placement will be: SPATH ( Bachelor degree) – regular elementary classroom SPATH (graduate program)- Practicum placement Early Childhood – PK – 3 grade Elementary 1 – 6 grade Secondary – 6 – 12 PK – 12 certification: (Electives/SPED) Elementary/ Middle school or High School

Mentor Teacher Please give the booklet the first day. Read it yourself. Have the mentor sign the log sheet to confirm 45 hours completed. Tell him/her about the assessment that will come from you.
