w (1) Holiday abroad w (2) Living abroad for long periods w - emigration w - studying abroad w - doing overseas voluntary work

Approach to deal with the Discussion Topics on Foreign Travel w Usually, this type of topic requires you to discuss: w (1) the advantages w (2) the disadvantages w Then you have to decide between 2 options

w Can this type of discussion get confusing? w - Pros of Option A w - Cons of Option A w -Pros of Option B w -Cons of Option B w -Decision

How to manage the discussion well?

Proper Procedure to Tackle the Pros and Cons Discussion Topics w Step 1: Deal completely with the pros and cons of your first option, option A.

w Step 2: Summarize your points about A.

w Step 3: Do the same for option B w Try to avoid talking about B when you are supposed to be discussing A, and vice versa.

w Step 4: After you have summarized B, compare the 2 options and try to make a decision.

Remark w Remark: The group doesn’t have to reach a consensus (all agree). w You can finish the discussion by agreeing to disagree.
