Container Houses as permanent housing

The Housing Reno’s Homeless Project: Goal: House every homeless person in Reno in one year.

One bed bath and kitchen. For 1 or a couple.

Single layout and Two bedroom Floor plan

My container prototype: This is about what my first model will look like. We plan to live in it. I will add on to it and eventually it will be a three story luxury house. All of the homes will be equipped with the latest solar system for off the grid power, instant hot water heaters, all appliences, A full bath with shower with a compost toilet, heat, air conditioning, RV hookups for shore power, gray and black water hoses. Led lighting, and they will be fully furnished. All for about $10,000 per unit. I estimate that from the stats the HUD Rep gave, at about 90 to 100 people, we could do it for $ No section 8, just space on a couple of those motel lots you are generating by tearing them down. Temporary space. By not paying Rent, or most utilities, they can save up and buy a space in a park or just find some vacant land to buy.

Curb Appeal, Flexability, Price.

Both are good for different applications.

Small carbon foot print. Speed, and Ease of construction.

Cost of construction Average cost per unit $ units, $ Housed on vacant lots off of the main street. Concrete and metal foundations and Metal scaffolding to stack 2 or 3 stories with stairs, and walkways. $ per site. Bolted in for safety. Unbolt for transport on flatbed. Crane needed to move units.
