Franklin Delano Roosevelt By: Mickayla Simpson-Barron

November Mornings November Mornings On the morning of November 8, 1932, started the day and most people in the united states did not want to get out of bed to face the day, because the country was in the worst of its days since the Civil War. America was in a deep economic depression. It was so tragic that many citizens found that their way of life was over.

Unemployment Unemployment In 1932 a terrible amount of people were unemployed, that amount was 24.1 about a quarter of the country’s workers. An average worker was fearful that they were next in line in loosing their job and home.

Election Day Election Day November 8, 1932, was election day. New York Governor Franklin Delano Roosevelt, A democrat, who was running up against sitting President Herbert Hoover. At Franklin’s home in Hyde Park, New York Franklin and his wife went down to the Hyde Park town hall and cast their votes, Later the same day the Roosevelts had traveled 95 miles south to New York City where they maintained another home.

I have What!?!? I have What!?!? Just about 11 years ago Franklin would have seemed an unlikely presidential candidate. Franklin was out on a ordinary day playing with his kids and noticed when he got home his legs were tired so he laid down and took a nap, when he awoke he tried to walk but he couldn’t, on August 1921 he had found out he had Polio, short for Poliomyelitis. Polio is a disease that attacks the nervous system. In November 1921 he was bedridden with paralyzed legs, his main concern was trying to live a normal life, and his dream of running for President seamed impossible

Living the dream Living the dream Franklin D. Roosevelt tried his hardest worked on what he could and was lucky enough to be the first and only 4 term president
