Aldebaran By: Katie Corbett

Aldebaran in its constellation Aldebaran is from the constellation Taurus Taurus: The festivals honoring Apis Bull were when the Nile gently overflowed its banks. At this time in history, roughly around 4000 B.C., the Sun's position along the Zodiac on the first day of spring, or Vernal Equinox, was in that constellation we now recognize as Taurus, the Bull. So for many centuries Taurus was to be the first and most important constellation of the Zodiac. Some have suggested that Taurus may have been the first Zodiac constellation invented.

Aldebaran compared to our sun AldebaranSun Size= about 61,247,120 km diameter or 38,057,272 miles diameter Temperature= about 3500 kelvin Color= Orange Distance from sun: about 65.1 light years Size= 1,391,980 km diameter or 864,938 miles diameter Temperature= 5778 kelvin Color= Yellow

Aldebaran on an H-R Diamgram Aldebaran’s surface temperature in Kelvin is about 3500 Its brightness is about (sun=1)

Aldebaran’s life cycle it started off as a large, cool mass of gas, part of a nebula. Aldebaran is a K5III Spectral Class orange giant and is currently fusing C/O in its core.
