Cervantes was born in 1547 in Alcala de Henares, Spain. He died in 1616 in Madrid, Spain. He lived in Spain all his life.

-He was famous for his book Don Quixote -- The book was one of the greatest known masterpieces of world literature -The Priest. Ch 6. “For years this Cervantes has been a great friend of mine, and he certainly knows a lot about misfortune than poetry.”

-Don Quixote has been translated into 60 different languages -Cervantes thought that life was so dim, he enlisted in the army and was wounded -He was captured by the Turks and was held prisoner for 5 years -In 1597 he was thrown into jail in Seville were he was held for three months due to some uncertain matters. -His left hand was handicapped

If Miguel Cervantes was here today, he would probably be fascinated by modern day computers because he had to write everything by hand and a lot of mistakes could have been made.
