Persuasive Techniques Rhetorical question – A question that does not expect an answer. It is asked simply to make a point or make people think. Examples: What’s the matter with you? Who cares? How should I know? How do you sleep at night?

Persuasive writing Rule of three – It is more powerful and memorable to write something in three. Examples: Location, location, location Rock, paper, scissors. Stop, drop and roll. Repetition – Repeating something in order for the reader to remember or think about it. Example: McDonald's has the best prices, the best hamburgers and the best customer service.
