Key Aspects of a Vision Engages heart and spirit Leads toward worthwhile goal Gives meaning to an effort Simplicity with understanding Attainability with flexibility Can change over time

Scout Oath by Baden-Powell, 1908 “On my honor I promise that – I will do my duty to God and the King. I will do my best to help others, whatever it costs me. I know the Scout Law and will obey it.”

A Scout’s honour is to be trusted. A Scout is loyal to the King, and to his officers, and to his country, and to his employers. A Scout’s duty is to be useful and to help others. A Scout is a friend to all, and a brother to every other Scout, no matter to what social class the other belongs. Scout Law by Baden-Powell, 1908

A Scout is courteous. A Scout is a friend to animals. A Scout obeys orders of his patrol leader or Scoutmaster without question. A Scout smiles and whistles under all circumstances. A Scout is thrifty.
