Environmental Impact Analysis Manufacture: Hazardous chemicals used in manufacture of ICs and PCB. Normal Use: Little environmental impact; relatively high power usage. Disposal: ICs and PCB not biodegradable, however many components are recyclable.
Addressing Environmental Impact Manufacture: area of PCB will be minimized; minimum number of ICs used. Normal Use: power usage will be minimized by controlling current draw. Disposal: all metal will be stripped off turret to be recycled; Capacitors may be re-used (long life cycle); PCB and ICs properly disposed of.
Ethical Challenges Product Safety: High voltages, moving parts, and fast moving projectiles pose safety issues. Security: ethical implications of causing bodily injury for security purposes.
Addressing Ethical Challenges Product Safety: – Warnings for high voltage and moving parts will be placed on turret base. – Stoppers will be placed to limit barrel rotation. – Large rubber stopper placed on back of barrel to inhibit back-firing. – LED and NEON bulb will indicate high voltages. Security: if commercialized, background check required to purchase.
