Alleluia, Alleluia,
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke Glory to you, O Lord The Gospel of the Lord Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ
Alleluia, Alleluia,
Time to reflect on what we have heard in our Gospel today. What did you hear about signs in the Gospel today? Do you think that we should be afraid or happy about Jesus coming? How could we prepare a welcome for Jesus now and keep ourselves ready to greet him?
Let us pray that Christians everywhere will lead lives filled with love, forgiveness and truth, so that Christ may find us ready to greet him. Lord in your mercy; All: Lord hear our prayer We pray that anyone who feels lonely or sad will find happiness through our loving care and concern. All: Lord hear our prayer. Knowing that our Heavenly Father is listening, in the silence of our own hearts let us share our unspoken prayers with him. Amen
We ask this in the name of Christ our Lord. Amen Let us pray together. Loving Father, Help us prepare for Jesus’ birth, and stay awake for the Lord is coming. We ask this in the name of Christ our Lord. Amen
DO NOT BE AFRAID Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name; you are mine. When you walk through the waters, I’ll be with you; you will never sink beneath the waves.
When the fire is burning all around you, you will never be consumed by the flames. Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name; you are mine. When the fear of loneliness is looming, then remember I am at your side.
