Color Cards Color Printing Procedures Color Printing Guidelines Topics

Understanding Color Cards You will only receive one color card. You can only use the color card this semester. We cannot replace lost color cards. You’ll need to know:

Using Color Cards Cards are good for only four color documents. Multiple copies under the same cover sheet of the same document each count as a separate punch. We will punch your cards each time you print a color document. Please contact the lab administrator, Bob Congrove, if you have any questions. Also,

Color Printing Procedures Ask us for help the first time you print in color. Once the color printer has been selected, review your document for any formatting changes. Color printouts are available at the tutor desk. Procedures

CMYK and Printers CMYK is a subtractive color model; RGB is an additive color model. The printers use CMYK while your monitor uses RGB. The printers print in dots per inch (dpi) using a process called halftoning while the monitors display graphics in pixels per inch (ppi). Color Printing

CMYK and Printers If you would like to see exactly how a color will print out, ask us for the booklet of RGB and CMYK Color Samples. Color Printing

Printing Using Drawing Canvases You must put all your graphics in drawing canvases. You must use the drawing canvas in order for your document to print correctly. Although it may look correct with out the canvases it will not print out correctly. Drawing Canvases
