Childhood Born: March 17,1942 in Chicago, Illinois Family Life: His father was an alcoholic who physically abused his wife and scolded his children frequently. School years: His family problems effected his school work and during his senior year he went to four different high schools. Finally dropped out and started working in Las Vegas but eventually went to business college

Adult years Gacy had been a model citizen and was seen as an outstanding individual for the community was even given a “ man of the year award”. Run in with the law: a boy named Mark Miller told the courts that Gacy had tricked him into being tied up while visiting Gacy’s home and he had violently raped him. Gacy denied the charges but did say that Miller willingly had sex with him in order to earn extra money. 4 months later Gacy paid another boy to beat up Mark Miller. Was sent to jail for 18 months Gacy was also an amateur clown

How would he choose his victim and why did he do it Gacy would either find his victims on the streets or they worked for him Gacy only did it for the sexual thrill of it

How was Gacy caught? For years gacy was suspected by many people in his community as a pedophile but was never questioned until 1978 when a boy named Robert piest went missing and the police finally decided to look in to Gacy as suspect for all the missing young boys over the years and once they searched the house they started to find bodies .

Evidence found Each body that was found under Gacy’s house had the same method of death Each body had arms behind their back tied with Gacy’s rope trick. Each had been sexually assaulted. Each had their Underwear or socks stuffed down their throats. Each was strangled. Only four were found outside his house all in the Des Plaines River.

Imprisonment and death Ultimately found guilty of committing 33 murders, was sentenced to serve 12 death sentences and 21 natural life sentences. Was in prison for 14 years then executed in 1994 by lethal injection. Also became a painter while in prison

New evidence It has been said that Gacy killed many more and bodies that were found from the 1970’s are being tested to see if Gacy was connected to more than thought.

My opinion I know that Gacy deserved what he got but someone could have stopped him if they had suspicions about him about being a pedophile.
