 ISIS started April 9, 2013 and have continued since  ISIS is a terrorist group in the middle east  They have taken over parts of Syrian and Iraq to gain ground

 The ISIS terrorist group started as an Al Qaeda splinter group  The Al-Qaeda group began 40 years ago in 1976 when the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan  The Soviets hated the Muslims and forced 20,000 Muslims to fight for the Afghan resistance.

 The AQI leader, Al-Zarqawi was killed in 2006 by a US airstrike  Abu Hamza al-Muhajer took the place of the leader of the AQI  Al- Baghdadi had been detained for several months in a prison called Camp Bucca. (Controlled by the US)

 latest big attack was in Paris, hundreds of people were murdered by being brutally shot in a music theater, or by bombs going off in the streets.  In 2014, kidnapped more than 140 Kurdish school boys and forced them to learn radical Islamic theology and fight for the Islamic State
