We Know That Electric Currents Produce Magnetic Forces So moving electrons create a magnetic force And magnetic fields can interact to create motion (motors!) But what about the opposite? What is the effect of magnetic force on electrons? So magnetic fields can cause electrons to move in a wire And electrons moving in a wire is called… Electricity!!! – so the reverse process of a motor GENERATES electricity (what do you think we call that?
