No part of this presentation in all its property may be used or reproduced in any form without a written permission MDG Progress and Transition to SDGs The Arab region was considered a good performer in terms of the MDGs But despite laudable progress in MDG achievement (education, and health), the region continued to lag behind on important targets (food security, access to water, sanitation and child and maternal mortality). Today, civil war, occupation, conflict and its spillover effects threaten to undermine and roll back achievements. MDG CASE STUDY: SYRIA Development achievements of eradicated HDI degraded by 32.6 %.
