Job Description 1)Determine how food should be presented, and create decorative food displays. 2) Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services. 3) Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients. 4) Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards. 5) Instruct cooks and other workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food. 6) Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.

Personal Attributes Stamina- Being able to keep going after long hours. Organisation- Making sure a chef has everything ready before he/she start cooking. Flexibility- Being able to work with pressure especially when you have not very many staff on and knowing how everything works in the restaurant or cafe. Creativity- Chef needs to be creative to attract customers to want to eat their food and also make it look good at the same time. Teamwork- A chef needs a team to rely on to be able to deal with customers and help prepare the food for the customers and serve customers while food is cooking. Customer focus- A chef knows that their customers want fresh, delicious, presented attractively food and for the chef to be able to handle any complaints or special inquires customers have. Desire to learn- Chefs must have a desire to learn new techniques to cooking and preparing food and dealing with customers and also learning new recipes along the way of their career.
