University of Denver Field Trip  3 rd, 4 th, and 5 th graders  Thursday April 30 th  ALL parents are invited!  Leave Southmoor at 9:15  Light Rail to University of Denver  Tour Campus  Speak with current international/ESL students at DU  Lunch at DU (bring a sack lunch!)  Return to Southmoor at 12:45 via Light Rail

Botanic Gardens Field Trip  Kindergarten, 1 st grade, 2 nd grade  May 15 th  ALL parents are invited!  Leave Southmoor at 9:30 via school bus  Students will explore the gardens and participate in wildflower week activities  Lunch at the gardens (bring a sack lunch!)  Return to Southmoor around 1:00

Southmoor Auction  Fundraiser that supports Southmoor students and staff  Helps fund teacher pay, para support, instructional materials, and much more!  Saturday April 25 th  Auction Preview  Thursday April 23 5:00-6:30  Online items available to purchase  Create an account and start bidding!   Online auction closes April 23 at 9:00 PM

Southmoor Construction  June 6 - Construction begins!  School improvements  Permanent walls  Sinks and cabinets in every classroom  Small group break out spaces off most rooms  New furniture (desks, chairs, tables, etc)  Construction is projected to be done by Thanksgiving  Fifth grade will be at Shoemaker School until construction is finished

Summer is Almost Here!  Summer ELA Academy  Registration forms were sent home last week  All forms are due by Friday April 24  4 week, ½ day program (breakfast and lunch are provided)  Wednesday June 10 – Thursday July 2  Free!!  Bus transportation is provided if you live more than 1 mile from the Summer Academy school.
