Equity and Excellence: Liberating the NHS Having our say about the White Paper Autumn 2010

About the White Paper The government have written a paper about the NHS. This is called: Equity and Excellence: Liberating the NHS This is a big plan from the government about how Health & Social Care services could work in the future. PLAN

About the White Paper The government have made an easyread version of this White Paper. This is available with the full version on the Department of Health website.

What we want to do about the White Paper There isn’t much time to have our say about the White Paper. This is because the deadline for getting our feedback into the government is 11 th October. This means we need to decide today what we want to say about the White Paper and how it will affect people with a learning disability.

How we will collect our feedback There are some materials that have been sent to us by Inclusion North. They have worked with a group of self advocates from North East Lincs and Deb Moore to produce these. We will use these today to help us collect our feedback. We can also add anything else we want to this.

How we will send in our feedback We will send our feedback from this group into the Department of Health You can also send in your own feedback as an individual or another group. We can also send it into Inclusion North if we want to. They will use this to send in a regional response to the Department of Health.

Getting our information Please go into small groups and read the Easy Read White Paper and the report that Inclusion North have sent us. Use the rest of the time we have to give your views that can be included in our feedback. We will then pull all this information together. We will send you the full feedback from the board when we have typed it up.
