Presentation transcript:

What is Global Warming? Global warming is when the earth heats up (the temperature rises). It happens when greenhouse gases trap heat and light from the sun in the earth’s atmosphere, which increases the temperature. This hurts many people, animals, and plants. Many cannot take the change, so they die. Global warming is affecting many parts of the world making the sea rise, and then the water covers many low land islands. The water covers the plants and causes some of them to die causing animals to lose a source of food. As a result, they would also have to leave the area or die. This would be called a break in the food chain, or a chain reaction, one thing happening that leads to another and so on.

How does GLOBAL WARMING affect wildlife around the world? Global Warming affects ice based animals around the world because global warming melts ice and pollutes the sea. Scientists predict that polar bears are going to get extinct within 100 years because their habitat is fading away therefore they drown while swimming to catch their prey. Even if the mother polar bears finds food for her family the baby polar bears would have probably drifted away on ice. That is killing the whole entire endangered species. Another issue is that even though humans know that these cute fluffy white balls of fur are slowly disappearing hunters are still hunting them for their furs as clothing, meat for food and cruelly just for enjoyment!

Would you kiss this toad goodbye? Once upon a time in the legendary Costa Rica forest lived a great Golden Toad. He lived happily and was found by humans in Years passed quickly and his lovely green forest with all his friends in it became too hot. He suddenly realized that this was all due to the harmful and giant mean humans. With an endangered tag he slowly faded away into the now brown and burnt trees. He and his fellow toads have not been seen since This tragic and sad story is true. Us humans caused this little froggy never to be seen again because of our actions I am very sure that froggy would like some revenge.

Walrus’ dive as deep as 75 meters from the ocean surface to forage snails, crabs, clams and mussels. Adult walrus’ may scoop up to as many as 3 thousand to 6 thousand clams at one feeding. Hungry polar bears have been spotted in Halifax and Ontario, Canada, forging for food in peoples’ garbage cans. Each bear in the Arctic is fitted with an ear tag. Woodbridge School in Tasmania reduced their paper waste by 80% and won the Environment Day Award. Interesting Facts Page
