Steps in Developing a Competency Assessment Plan

Plan Components the tools –based on second level competencies OR –  based on aviation weather hazards  the implementation follow up and record keeping

First three steps 1.Modify 2nd level competencies to fit each type of job 2.Determine Tools which will be used to assess competencies 3.Describe how tools will be applied

OR 1.Determine most significant hazards to aviation for each type of job 2.Modify tools to assess competence related to these phenomena includes writing or adapting templates 2a.Assume that competence for these critical phenomena also proves competence in other phenomena document assumptions and be prepared to review if needed 3.Describe how tools will be applied

Implementation steps 3.Describe how tools will be applied 4.Determine who will do the assessments 5.Plan schedule for when tool will be applied and how long will it take 6.Communicate plan with management or government administration 7.Identify any competencies which will require a new or different tool 8.Describe how records of results will be kept
