Presentation transcript:

By Ellie Wright.

 The first part of the opening title sequence is filmed in some woods this gives the feel of the woman who is running is isolated and that its an isolated location and gives the shot a creepy feel as we are not sure if she is running away from some thing or not.  As it reveals she is running a assault course and this hints that she isn't a feminine woman, as she goes in we see a big building that she goes into and all of the walls and tables are covered in technology and guns and gadgets which are very male oriented items. This might show that in her job she mainly works with men which means she is maybe more like a tomboy. And the fact that she works in a big building might suggest that she Misty and seems to be in early morning-gives the isolated, creepy feel. Bare trees also gives a creepy isolated feeling.

 The woods are dimly lit makes it feel and not a very comfortable place to be by your self.  There is a wash of blue colors this adds to the creepy and isolated feel. This blue wash carries on as she goes into the building until she gets into the office the blue theme seems to continue but it gets a lot more brown this gives a more serious tone to the shots. Blue washBlue with some brown wash

 The main character Clarice Starling she is wearing a sweat shirt with trainers and tracksuit bottoms this is because she is doing an assault course this tells us that the job she does is a very active job maybe like a job in the army or police force, and later on we do find out she works for the FBI.  She is also quite pretty but subtly pretty she isn’t stunning but she does get noticed by other men she works with. In the assault cause she doesn’t look very attractive because she is sweating and you can see that but it does tell you that maybe she tries very hard and is a very determined person.  The other extras in the scene all seem to have a sort of uniform consisting of a polo shirt and trousers, this shows it is kind of like a school not a actually a police department or some thing similar to that. So it shows that she is still learning about things and that she is young.

 There are not many props in the opening scene apart from about two main things…  The first is the pin board with all the photos and newspaper articles on
