蜚蠊目(Blattodea)

Characteristics Blattaria are cursorial (adapted for running) and move rapidly They have flattened平 bodies and their head is concealed from隐藏 above by their pronotum They have two pairs of wings, but in some species the wings are greatly reduced

Life Cycle Simple metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult). Nymphs hatch 孵化from the egg case卵鞘 that resemble类似 small grayish-brown adult cockroaches蟑螂 without fully developed wings. Nymphs molt 蜕皮10 to 13 times in over a year (470 to 600 days, depending on temperature) before becoming adults.

Feeding Cockroaches eat almost anything including meats and grease油脂, starchy 淀粉,foods, sweets, baked goods, leather皮革, wallpaper paste, book bindings and sizing胶料. Adults are capable of gliding滑行 flights.

Habitat and Distribution This is generally an outdoor species, living in wood piles, decaying trees, palm trees and in sewer 下水道systems. They are mainly active at night and hide隐藏 in cracks and crevices during the day, preferring dark moist sites in attics and basements
