Write each question and leave space for the answers. Why is safety important in the STEM lab? List two safety hazards. What does PPE stand for? What is the importance of PPE? What are the six PPE categories?

Health & Safety Hazards There are various hazards that you may encounter in the STEM lab. They include any or all of the following: machinery and operation of power tools risks encountered in handling hot components or dangerous impact breathing problems caused by exposure to irritant and toxic gases electrical risk from power tools.

What is PPE? Personal Protective Equipment PPE ensures your basic health protection and safety

Respiratory Protection PPE Eye Protection Hearing Protection Respiratory Protection e.g. goggles, glasses, welding helmets e.g. ear plugs, ear muffs e.g. respirators, face masks, cartridge filters
